	I am a PhD. in Telecommunication Engineering for the Technical University of Madrid (Universidad Politécnica de Madrid). My research activity belongs to the Speech Technology Group (Grupo de Tecnología del Habla) in the Department of Electronic Engineering (Departamento de Ingeniería Electrónica, DIE), which belongs to the Technical University of Madrid (Universidad Politécnica de Madrid, UPM), at the High Technical School of Telecommunication Engineering (Escuela Técnica Superior de Ingenieros de Telecomunicación, ETSIT). I am currently an associate professor in the Department of Electronic Engineering (Departamento de Ingeniería Electrónica, DIE), which belongs to the Technical University of Madrid (Universidad Politécnica de Madrid, UPM), at the High Technical School of Telecommunication Engineering (Escuela Técnica Superior de Ingenieros de Telecomunicación, ETSIT). Appart from my duties as a teacher, I am trying to finish (or was it to start?...) my thesis on "Real-time very large vocabulary speech recognition systems". May be you want to have a look at my boss, to see who I have to deal with :-) I also colaborate with Juana Gutiérrez Arrila in the administration of the computers and network in our Group. The last affair I'm involved in is that starting October 1997, I'm the IEEE Student Branch Counselor in our University. [28-Oct-1997] By the end of 1997, and mainly because of the enthusiastic support of Alberto Fernández, we decided to request RedIris hosting a mailing list devoted to Speech Technology in general, for the Spanish speaking community. The idea was promptly accepted and right now [19-FEB-98] TecHabla has around 90 subscriptors, in which we can mention the main Spanish Research Groups in this topic. I can't spend a lot of time with the list, but if you are interested in having a look, I have created some pages in which I store relevant information extracted from other sources. Take into account that language is Spanish in these pages. I have been playing a bit with HTML, and long time ago I started the concatenative-based tex-to-speech converter for Spanish. You can even type the text to be synthesized . I have not prepared a electronic version of my resumee, but you will find if soon somewhere near here.
